After many years of "playing decorator" in my home and in the homes of my friends and family, I took the plunge and decided to leave my teaching career behind and become a legitimate member of the design community. It was not difficult for me to decide which field of design I wanted to study.
Here is the story: When my family moved to this area from the Knoxville, Tennessee area, my wonderful new neighbor and friend from across the street came to my house to introduce herself and see how she could help us get settled. She explained that she was an Interior Redesigner, and then she proceeded to help me place all my furniture in my new home!!! What a great gift to a new neighbor!!! As we worked together, she told me more about her love for decorating and design, and how redesign was a fairly new avenue for people looking to refresh their homes. Well, I was hooked! My house looked fantastic, and I didn't really have to buy anything new because all my furnishings and accessories fit right in to my new spaces!
Fast-forward a few years and here I am. Not only did I follow in that neighbor's exemplary footsteps, but I also decided to study the art of Home Staging and the concept of Color as it relates to decorating. I am a certified Interior Redesign Industry Specialist (IRIS), a Certified Interior Staging Specialist (CISS), and a certified Dewey Color Consultant (DCC).
I am committed to helping clients find that look for their homes that "just fits." Your home is the most important place in your life, and I would love the opportunity to make your home a reflection of you and your family. It is a joy for me to work with you as you seek to create a wonderful haven in which to make those precious memories of HOME!
2009 Addendum: I love homes so much that I received my real estate license for the state of Tennessee and am now realtor/stager as on January 2009. I am affiliated with Keller Wiliams Realty in the Tri Cities! Now I can not only help homeowners create the home of their dreams, but I just might be able to assist them in FINDING the home of their dreams as well! Obviously my clients that list their homes for sale with me will receive FREE staging advice and/or staging itself! I am truly blessed to do what I love!
